Day Two Hundred Seventy Seven

Dear Readers,
The Dodger's slimmest margins for error is completely gone now.  They allowed themselves to get booted from the playoffs.  It was a matter of winning yesterday's game.  They knew they had to win and if they did it would allow them to fight on for another day.  It could have come down to the last game of the season, but the Dodger's blew it last night.  Their fate rested in their own hands and they let themselves down.  A frustrating end to a very frustrating season.  The only bright spot has been knowing that Clayton Kershaw didn't just have a fluke season last year.  He really is that good.  His record isn't as good this year, but he finished the season as the league leader in ERA.  Meaning, that averaged on a per game basis, he allowed the fewest runs in the entire league.  In other words, he is good.  Really good.  As good as he was, it didn't fix the rest of the team.  They were probably the most unclutch team this year.  They couldn't put it all together when it counted.  Even at the end of the season, when they were playing their best baseball, they managed to not pull it out when it really counted.  Just a small portion of why the Dodgers frustrated me all year long.  Here comes the famous words I have been saying at the end of every season for what seems like forever right now.  "Next year".  It is time to make the complete shift into football season.  Even though I am a fan of baseball period, football is just too exciting for me this year, having both my teams doing so well right now.  Not to mention, three fantasy football teams worth of players to keep tabs on.  I pretty much have a vested interest in just about every NFL team playing each week.  All except the Raiders.  They are an absolutely terrible team that I don't rely on having any consistently good fantasy players.  Plus, I like to see them do badly, so I don't want any reason to have to root for them or any player who plays for them.  I am better off drafting players from teams I like to root for.  Just a better situation all around.

Dementedly hilarious.
